NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT
An investigation is underway into a shooting incident involving an adult male that took place on Fox Hill Road on Tuesday 07th May, 2024. Police were notified by its Shot Spotter technology of gunshots emanating in the area of Fox Hill Road around 9:00 p.m. Initial reports indicate that the victim, accompanied by another individual, was walking south along Fox Hill Road, near a bar on Timothy Lane, when a dark-colored Japanese vehicle traveling in the opposite direction pulled nearby.
It is reported that two (2) unknown gunmen emerged from the vehicle and fired shots in their direction, resulting in one of the victims, aged 41, receiving a gunshot injury to his hand.
The victim was transported to the hospital via emergency services for medical treatment.

THREE FIREARMS CONFSCATED IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS
On Tuesday 07th May, 2024, police confiscated three (3) firearms in separate incidents, resulting in one (1) arrest.
In the first incident, around 4:30 p.m., officers from Operation Ceasefire, acting on information, arrived on Spruce Street in Nassau Village, where they searched an abandoned boat on a vacant property, leading to the discovery of a firearm containing ammunition. No arrests were made in connection with this discovery.
The second seizure took place around 11:15 p.m. on Sumner Drive, off East Street. Acting on information, S.W.A.T. officers searched a discarded appliance on the mentioned street and discovered an unlicensed firearm containing ammunition. There were no arrests made in connection with this seizure.
The third incident, resulting in an arrest, occurred on Wise Man Street in Pinewood Gardens around 11:30 p.m. Officers from Operation Ceasefire conducting mobile patrols observed three males dressed in dark clothing and hooded jackets walking; however, as they proceeded to approach the males, they fled, resulting in a brief pursuit that led to the capture of one of the males. A search of the immediate area from where they fled led to the discovery of a firearm containing ammunition and the arrest of the 17-year-old suspect.
The Anti-Gang & Firearm Investigation Task Force will conduct further investigations into these matters.
ARRAIGNMENT
Police wish to advise members of the public that two (2) Police Officers who have been interdicted will appear before the Magistrate Court today at noon formally charged with Attempted Stealing.
This pertains to the reported theft of $90,000.00, which occurred on March 24, 2024.
NORTHERN BAHAMAS
GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY
Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a fatal crash that happened on Wednesday 08th May, 2024, claiming the life of a female driver.
The accident occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Midshipman Road, involving a single vehicle occupied by two individuals.
Preliminary reports indicate that the female driver attempted to pass another vehicle when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle, causing the vehicle to overturn and subsequently, she was ejected.
EMS personnel visited the scene and examined the female driver but she showed no vital signs of life; however, the passenger received minor injuries.
Investigations continue into this matter.
