NEW PROVIDENCE
INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY INTO LATEST SHOOTING
Police are investigating a shooting incident involving an adult male which occurred on Tuesday 30th April, 2024, around 5:30 p.m.
Initial reports indicate that the owner of a commercial property on Carmichael Road encountered an adult male who was behaving erratically while causing damages to products inside his establishment. It is reported that the proprietor instructed the male to leave the premises; however, the male charged at the proprietor with a sharp object, prompting the proprietor to retrieve and discharge his licensed firearm, ultimately shooting the male in his lower extremities.
The male was transported to the hospital via ambulance, where his condition is stable.
The Criminal Investigation Department will continue investigation into this matter.
FIREARM CONFISCATED BY POLICE
Officers from the Southwestern Division seized a firearm that contained ammunition shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday 30th April, 2024.
According to preliminary reports, officers in the area of Mildred Avenue observed a group of males congregating on an open lot; however, upon seeing the officers, the males fled, eluding them. The officers searched the property, discovering and confiscating the weapon.
The Anti-Gang &Firearms Investigation Task Force will continue investigations into this matter.
POLICE ARREST SUSPECTS IN FIREARM SEIZURE
On Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, officers from the Northeastern Division, with the assistance of the K-9 Unit, successfully confiscated two (2) firearms and apprehended four adults in separate incidents.
In the first incident, around 5:00 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Pinta Close in Marathon Estates, resulting in the discovery of an unlicensed firearm that contained a quantity of ammunition and the subsequent arrest of the four adult residents, (three males and one female).
In the final incident, shortly after 10:00 a.m. officers acting on information proceeded to Periwinkle Alley off Kemp Road, where they discovered and removed a firearm from an abandoned structure. There were no arrests made in connection with this discovery.
The Anti-Gang & Firearm Investigation Task Force Unit will continue investigations into these incidents.
POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY
Police are investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, at a business establishment situated on Market Street and Lily of the Valley Corner.
Preliminary reports indicate that two (2) males, one of whom was armed with a firearm, entered and robbed the establishment of an undisclosed sum of cash before they fled the immediate area on foot, making good on their escape.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS
GRAND BAHAMA: MALE ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY
Police in Grand Bahama are questioning an adult male in connection with an armed robbery incident on Tuesday 30th April, 2024, shortly after 1:00 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, an unknown adult male entered a restaurant on Atlantic Drive, approached a female employee, brandished a firearm, and stole her cellphone. The culprit fled the scene after several people came to her aid.
Police, acting on information, subsequently arrested a 48-year-old male.
