NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY
Police are searching for a male suspect responsible for an alleged armed robbery incident that occurred on Tuesday 30th April, 2024 in the vicinity of West Bay Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 1:00 a.m., the victim, while in the parking lot of a business establishment, was approached by a lone gunman who robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash and a black 2010 Nissan Note L/P # AU2287. The culprit fled the area, driving west along West Bay Street.
Police are appealing to members of the public to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicle. Anyone with information regarding this incident, is urged to contact 911, 919, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991, or anonymous tips can be provided through CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).
DEATH INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an adult male found in bushes off Frank Watson Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. on Monday 29th April, 2024.
According to preliminary reports, police, utilizing its Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System (drone technology), spotted a gray Dodge Ram truck parked in a bushy area on the eastern side of Frank Watson Boulevard. This vehicle matched the description of a vehicle belonging to a male who was reported missing on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers confirmed the discovery of the vehicle and a partially decomposed male's body lying outside of the vehicle.
A post-mortem examination will be performed to determine the exact cause of death, followed by an official identification process carried out by the next of kin.
Investigations continue.
STUDENTS INGEST SUSPECTED MARIJUANA AT A LOCAL SCHOOL
Three (3) juvenile male students received medical treatment after they reportedly ingested suspected marijuana while on campus at a government school located on Baillou Hill Road.
Authorities were notified around 12:00 p.m., on Monday 29th April, 2024, that the ninth grade students who had consumed the illegal substance had experienced adverse effects, including loss of consciousness. As a result, the students were transported by ambulance to the hospital where they received medical treatment.
Investigations into this matter remain ongoing.
MISSING MALE IDENTIFIED
An adult male found in bushes off Frank Watson Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. on Monday 29th April, 2024 has been positively identified by the next of kin as 33-year-old Evan Fox of Winton Meadows.
According to preliminary reports, police made the discovery of a partially decomposed male's body lying outside of a vehicle after utilizing its Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System (drone technology). The vehicle, a gray Dodge Ram truck owned by Fox, was parked in a bushy area on the eastern side of Frank Watson Boulevard. Fox was reported missing on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

ELEUTHERA: MALE ARRESTED FOR AMMUNITION & DRUG POSSESSION
Officers on the island of Eleuthera have taken a 29-year-old male into custody after discovering a quantity of assorted ammunition, and suspected marijuana in his home.
According to initial reports, shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 officers from the Fly Squad Unit, acting on information, executed a search warrant at a residence in Bluff Eleuthera, resulting in the discovery of more than two hundred (200) rounds of ammunition and 1.5 pounds of suspected marijuana worth an estimated $1,500.00, and the subsequent arrest of the adult male occupant.
Additionally, officers seized a sum of cash in assorted currencies, suspected to be the proceeds of a crime.
Investigations into this matter continue.
