RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLES

Police recovered two (2) vehicles, a black Nissan Note L/P #AZ7596 and a black Nissan Cube L/P #AY8313, on Sunday 21st April, 2024, in the East Street area.

The Criminal Investigation Department are continuing investigations into this matter.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: MALE HOSPITALIZED AFTER STABBING INCIDENT

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a stabbing incident that has resulted in an adult male being hospitalized.

The incident took place on Monday 22nd April, 2024, around 2:00 a.m. at a residence on Dogfish Street.

According to initial reports, the victim, upon hearing a knock at his residence, presumed it to be a relative and opened the door. However, he was confronted by an unknown male who attacked and stabbed him multiple times before fleeing the home in a white American model vehicle.

The victim sustained stab wounds to his head and upper body and was transported to the hospital, where he is currently listed in serious condition.

The Criminal Investigation Department will continue investigations into this matter.

NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE NEAR DROWNING

A lifeguard’s prompt intervention at a local resort on Paradise Island prevented a 4-year-old female child from a potential drowning incident.

Preliminary reports indicate that on Sunday 21st April, 2024, around 2:00 p.m., a family member briefly left the 4-year-old in the kid’s pool to retrieve a life vest for her, and upon returning, the family member found the child unresponsive and floating in the water.

It is reported that the lifeguard quickly responded, removing the child from the pool and performing CPR, successfully resuscitating her.

The female child was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where she received medical treatment and was subsequently discharged.

FAMILY ISLANDS

ELEUTHERA: OPERATION YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS

Police on the island of Eleuthera, in collaboration with the Bahamas Department of Immigration, and Bahamas Customs Department conducted a joint operation titled “Operation 2 Wheelers “on Sunday 21st April, 2024.

The operation specifically targeted prolific offenders, areas known for criminal activity, “hot spots," motorists who violated traffic laws, illegal immigrants, and inspections for undocumented customs items.

During the operation, officers arrested eight (8) individuals for various offences, including possession of dangerous drugs and immigration purposes. Additionally, officers inspected one hundred-fifty (150) vehicles.

Police wish to remind the public that these operations will be ongoing throughout the islands of the Bahamas; hence, the public is encouraged to adhere to all laws governing the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, as ANY violations will lead to individuals being placed before the Magistrate’s Court.
