NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE SEEK SUSPECTS IN RECENT SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police are aggressively searching for two men who shot an off-duty officer multiple times, as they attempted to break into a vehicle on Saturday 13th April 2024.
The incident reportedly occurred around 8:30 p.m., in the vicinity of Baillou Hill Road and Poinciana Drive.
The Reserve Officer was transported to hospital by ambulance, where he is in serious condition.
Police are searching for the whereabouts of the suspects, who fled the area north along Baillou Hill Road. Anyone with information that could advance this investigation is urged to contact 911, 919, the Criminal Investigation Department, or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477).
OPERATION CEASEFIRE: WANTED SUSPECT ARRESTED
A 28 year old male from Ida Street wanted for Murder, along with three (3) others are in police custody, after being found in possession of two (2) firearms and a quantity of ammunition.
According to reports around 2: 30 a.m. on Sunday 14th April, 2024, while in the parking lot of a night club on Bay Street, officers from Operation Ceasefire inclusive of officers from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force arrested the wanted suspect, and the males aged 28, 24, and 23, following a search of their vehicle, where they discovered and confiscated the items.
The Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task Force will continue investigations.
STOLEN VEHICLE UPDATE
Police wish to advise the public that a red 2007 Honda Accord L/P #AY0759 which was reported stolen on Friday 12th April, 2024 has been recovered. The Criminal Investigation Department is continuing investigations into this matter.
