NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE SEEK HELP IN LOCATING DRIVER RESPONSIBLE FOR HIT & RUN
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a two-axle truck, responsible for fatally killing a 61 year old male on Monday 8th April 2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 9:00 p.m. the victim was on Sir Milo Butler Highway attempting to cross the highway from the median to the western side of Sir Milo Butler Highway when he was struck by a truck traveling north along the Highway.
The victim was severely injured and examined by EMS personnel, who confirmed no vital signs of life.
Police are aggressively in search of the driver, who failed to remain on the scene and are appealing to members of the public who may have seen or have knowledge of this incident to contact the Traffic Division at 397-8050 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).
POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERIES
Police are investigating two (2) separate armed robberies that occurred on Tuesday 09th April, 2024.
In the first incident, shortly after midnight, the victim arrived at a home on Turtle Drive, off Carmichael Road in his burgundy 2012 Nissan Note L/P #AZ0260 when he was approached by two (2) unknown gunmen who robbed him of his vehicle. Both culprits entered the stolen vehicle and left traveling south on Turtle Drive towards St. Vincent Road.
In the final incident, around 12:30 a.m., a female was seated outside a residence in her gray Nissan Juke L/P #AY5444 in the Silver Gates subdivision off St. Vincent Road when two (2) Japanese vehicles, one burgundy and the other black, pulled nearby.
It is reported that a male armed with a firearm exited the burgundy vehicle, approached the victim, and robbed her of her vehicle before fleeing the area followed by the two accomplice vehicles.
Police are appealing to members of the public to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicles. Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents, are urged to contact 911, 919, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991, or anonymous tips can be provided through CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).
RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE
Police wish to inform the public that on Monday 08th April, 2024 a beige 2005 Nissan Primera was recovered in the area of Quarry Mission Road off Nassau Street. The vehicle was initially reported stolen on Wednesday 04th April, 2024, from Harbour Ridge Road.
The Criminal Investigation Department are continuing investigations into this matter.
